Maryam Fernandez

Maryam Fernandez focuses her practice on first-party property insurance
defense litigation, including but not limited to insurance coverage
disputes, pre- and post-appraisal matters, and declaratory coverage
actions. Prior to joining the firm, Maryam worked as the attorney team lead
of a large general liability and property insurance department of a
regional insurance defense firm. Maryam defended insurance companies in
lawsuits involving first-party and third-party property, bodily injury,
premises liability, personal liability, and other general liability
defense including wrongful death lawsuits.

Maryam was born in Cuba and raised in New Jersey. She attended Florida
International University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with
double minors in Political Science and International Relations. While
pursuing her undergraduate degree, Maryam joined *Phi Alpha Delta* Honor
Society and *Delta Epsilon Iota* Honor Society. She graduated with
honors; *Magna Cum Laude*. Maryam then attended Florida International University College
of Law where she was conferred the degree of *Juris Doctor.* While in law
school, Maryam was on the Dean’s List and received the CALI Excellence for
the Future Award in Florida Condominium Law.

Throughout her law school career, Maryam worked for the Florida
International University College of Law Legal Clinic acquiring experience
in the areas of Civil Litigation, Family Law, Immigration Law, and Probate
Law.
